In this chilling tale, a person rediscovers a childhood journal and a drawing of their best friend—a maple tree. The memories of their time together begin to change, causing confusion and doubt. Curiosity leads them back to their childhood home, now abandoned and overgrown. They find the tree, but it appears frail and starved. In a shocking turn of events, they are pulled into the hollow trunk and discover a chamber filled with bones. Their childhood friend, Maple, reveals herself but confesses she doesn't know how to help them escape. Stranded in the darkness, memories unravel, revealing the unsettling truth. As days pass, hunger drives the protagonist to drink a bitter substance provided by Maple, forcing them to confront the grim reality of their predicament.
